“I just wanted to write and let you know how helpful the lab work you suggested has been in my discussions about mental health and nutrition with my patients. Discussing the lab results really helps to tie together mental health and lifestyle and begins to empower people in making changes as opposed to feeling helpless about their mental health. . . People are more receptive to making small changes to their eating and are surprised that we are talking about adding to their eating verses taking away (especially high protein sources at breakfast and snacks!”

“Kristen’s specialty is to accomplish what insurance often prevents clients’ primary care physicians, psychiatrists, and therapists from doing; (and, that is) to rule out the physical causes of mental illness, educate clients on how their body works, and assist in helping them to rewire their brains, so that they can be better advocates for themselves and for the best care for their precious bodies to reclaim optimal health.”

“I took your PESI class in Portland this year and I just wanted to thank you for all the information. I am an occupational therapist with children and have been encouraging many parents to increase the amount of protein their children eat. Several children and their families’ lives have been changed simply by increasing their eating of protein. It has been amazing to see children’s fluctuations in behavior level out and their functioning increase. I, myself, have increased my protein and I feel amazing…and I have lost 10 lbs which is amazing for me!Thanks a million!”
“I am an LCSW in private practice in Portland, Oregon. To fulfill a CEU requirement, I took your “Complementary and Alternative Treatment” course via CD and workbook. A little feedback. After 22 years in the field, I have become somewhat jaded about CEU courses. They are mostly a redundant waste of time.
Due to my personal life, I was fairly up-to-speed on the nutritional basics – enough to ask basic diet questions during intake. However, your thoroughness of material and presentation style took me to a whole new level. While I still would consider myself in the “know enough to be dangerous” category, I walked away from the course with many more tools in the box.Understanding how crucially some of the basic nutrients affect mental health is marvelous. I have already, as I have been taking the course over the last week, suggested nutritional alternatives to three of my current clients.
Thank you so very much for a superb job on the manual and the presentation. My family has long been fans of naturopathy (a ND/nurse midwife brought our two daughters into the world). Since I doubt you have a clone in Portland, do you have any suggestions of an ND here that would follow your same style? Again, my deep appreciation for taking my practice to a new level.”

“I have personally worked with hundreds of speakers across the country and Kristen is at the top of the list when it comes to performance, professionalism, knowledge and charm and this is reflected in stellar audience reviews. Kristen connects with learners instantly and is able to cut through the expanse of information to provide the specific content that can change people’s lives.”

“I found the class ” Nourish Your Body” taught by Kristen Allot to be extremely valuable. Kristen helped to clarify so much of the confusion that is out there concerning nutrition. She explained in a clear, down to earth way how food affects mood, why cravings for sweets and carbs can be so overpowering and what to do about it. By implementing some simple suggestions from the class, I found that I had more mental clarity, energy and stamina throughout the day. Kristen is both compassionate and very knowledgeable … a rare combination. Using humor and engaging stories, she skillfully directs the focus on what can work for each individual in real life situations. Her practical tools can facilitate change in your relationship to food on biochemical, behavioral and emotional levels. I highly recommend Kristen’s work.”
“First, Dr. Allott made some easy diet suggestions that improved my energy and helped with some of my anxiety. Then, we worked at my pace to uncover the physical and emotional causes for sugar binges. To me it seemed slow, but it also seemed like progress rathar than just holding my breath, hoping it would just go away, again. Thank you, Dr.Allott, it’s great to be on my path.”

“I have complicated medical issues including balance problems and chronic pain which seem to be accompanied by depression. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a post-concussion syndrome. After becoming disabled in 2007, I lost the life I had created including career, home, and community.
As much as possible, every day I work at continuing to rehabilitate myself. Managing my life takes skilled and meaningful support. I need someone highly specialized. Dr. Allott’s care of me has been invaluable to me in making a new life for myself. Starting with the basics of what nutrition works for me and my brain and body, Dr. Allott combines common sense with thorough understanding of how the brain and body work. “
